Korean Essay Contest
The Lens Essay Writing Contest, first held in 2013, is an event designed to enhance creative thinking skills by writing essays that are comprehensive and well-rounded.  Lens essay writing consists of four key elements: the writer, subject, reader, and lens. In a lens essay, the writer analyzes a certain subject and makes his/her point using techniques such as comparison, contrast, and figurative language taking into consideration the background knowledge of the reader and explaining in terms that make it easy for the reader to understand (lens). The topic (subject) will be announced on the day of the event and the contest will be carried out in three stages: eligibility assessment, preliminary round, and final round.

English Essay Contest
The English Essay Writing Contest, first held in 2013, is an event designed to help Hanyang University students - the future leaders of the globalization era who will take globalization to new heights - develop the English writing skills they need to express themselves logically and build confidence in English writing. The contest will help students discover and enhance their untapped potential in writing, and foster critical thinking skills. The topic will be announced on the day of the event and judged in two rounds - the preliminary round and the final round. 
  • ParticipantsUndergraduate students enrolled at the Seoul Campus (※undergraduate students and exchange students from the Department of International Studies, Department of English Language and Literature, Department of English Education, and Department of Data Science are not eligible to participate)
