WHAT Is Turnitin?  

Turnitin is a web-based plagiarism detection program that helps a user to check a paper's originality and to prevent plagiarism-related problems.  

 WHY Should We Use Turnitin? 

Turnitin has outstanding features as follows: 

ㆍThe world's most widely used checking plagiarism service

ㆍHuge database for comparison: Major newspapers, magazines & scholar journals, academic publisher (Sage, Emerald, Gale, etc.), Internet websites

ㆍA wide range of availble file types: HWP, PDF, DOC, HTML, TXT, Word PerFect, etc.  

ㆍAbove all things, it can be the best used to detect texts written in English language

 HOW to Use Turnitin

      For Students  

STEP 1 : Log in to the current center website with your HY Portal ID/PW 

Go to "Graduate" in the menu bar > "Resources" > a posting titled "How to Use Turnitin" (Find the class registration key number, "클래스 등록키")

STEP 2 : Go to the following Turnitin website (https://www.turnitin.com/ko) and create your account here

      For Faculty Members

STEP 1 : Email koreasales@turnitin.com via your Hanyang email account (e.g., xxxx@hanyang.ac.kr)  

STEP 2 : The subject line should be "턴잇인 계정 생성 지원 요청("Request for Creating a Turnitin Account")"

STEP 3 : Include the following information

 ㆍYour name

 ㆍName of your department

 ㆍTitle (e.g., assistant professor or associate professor)

STEP 4 : Once your receive an automatic reply to your Hanyang account (sender: "Turnitin No Reply"), follow the instructions and click on the link to access the website.
